David Bloom is a high-performance business/management consultant who invested his first 25 years in business as a line manager, including stints as CEO/president of five different companies. After graduating from the University of Michigan and Harvard Business School, Dave spent 15 years at Herman's World of Sporting Goods, eventually becoming the CEO of the $700 million retailer at the age of 36. His next 10 years were invested exclusively with venture capital-funded companies, doing turnarounds on distressed companies or start-ups. His strength has always been the ability to turnaround or build a management team.
Dave has been on 10 corporate boards, usually as an "operational" director, spending significant time with the company on strategic, operational, and organizational issues beyond the regular quarterly board meeting.
Dave has two grown children and lives with his wife, Christie, in New Jersey.
